CAUCUS -  TOWN OF RUTLAND

January 15, 2008

 

1.  CALL TO ORDER.  Chairman Dale Beske called the Caucus to order at 6:30 p.m.  Also present were Milt and Vicky Sperle, Sarah Shapiro Hurley, Jim Lunde, Kim Sime and Dawn George.

 

2.  ELECT CAUCUS CHAIRMAN AND APPOINT TELLERS TO BE USED IF NEEDED.  Milt Sperle nominated Dale Beske; seconded by Shapiro Hurley; no other nominations were received; Sperle moved, Shapiro Hurley seconded to close the nominations for Chairman; motion carried.  Beske served as Caucus Chair.

 

3.  NOMINATIONS FOR TOWN SUPERVISOR (2 POSITIONS OPEN):  Milt Sperle nominated  Sarah Shapiro Hurley, seconded by Vicky Sperle;  Beske nominated Jim Lunde, seconded by Milt Sperle;  no other nominations were received.  Milt Sperle moved to closed the nominations for Town Supervisor.  Jim Lunde and Sarah Shapiro Hurley will appear on the ballot in that order (determined by drawing names).

 

4.  ADJOURNMENT.  Sperle moved, Shapiro Hurley seconded to adjourn the caucus; motion carried.

TOWN BOARD MEETING

TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2008

6:30 P.M.

 

The Town Board will meet on the above date immediately following the Town Caucus to approve the revised check list including the check for the loader purchase and the tax settlement checks for the state, county, schools and MATC.

 

Chairman Beske called the meeting to order.  Also present were Supervisors Shapiro Hurley, Sperle, Lunde, Clerk George and Treasurer Sime.

 

Shapiro Hurley moved to approve the modified check list for January which included the check for the purchase of the loader, tax settlements with the state, county, schools and MATC, and the voided check to Landmark for LP not received or ordered; seconded by Lunde; motion carried.

 

The Board also directed the Treasurer to transfer the $55,000 from the tax account to the capital reserve account to repay the transfer in the summer of 2007 to cover the cash flow.
