NOTICE

SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING

JANUARY 17, 20066:15 PM

 

Chairman Beske called the special Board meeting to order at 6:15 p.m.  Also present were Supervisors Shapiro Hurley, Furseth, and Sperle.  Absent: none.

 

AGENDA:

1.  Consideration and possible action on purchase of pickup truck.

Sperle moved, Shapiro Hurley 2nd, to approve the purchase and setup of a 2005 1-ton pickup with a Knapheide Dump KDB8A quarter cab protector with a double acting electric hoist, receiver hitch with 3” pintle hitching ring and 2” ball with electric plug, installation of light package and rust proofing of cab and chassis at a total cost of $27352.56; motion carried.  This package is per the 2003 state bid #27645.  As this will take a couple of months to arrive, the method of disposal of the old ’94 Ford pickup will be decided after the new truck arrives.

2.  Consideration of options dealing with illegal taxes.  Sperle moved, Shapiro Hurley 2nd motion to pay the $19.77 illegal tax on parcel number from town funds and make sure that the parcel is classified exempt for 2006; motion carried. 

 

CAUCUS

TOWN OF RUTLAND

January 17, 2006

AGENDA:

 

1.  Call to order.  Chairman Dale Beske called the 2006 Caucus to order.  An attendance sheet is on file.

 

2.  Chairman Beske gave an explanation as to who may nominate candidates and vote and advised of the rules of caucus.

   

3.  Elect caucus chairman and appoint tellers to be used if needed.   Milt Sperle nominated Dale Beske to serve as caucus chairman, 2nd by Sarah Shapiro Hurley; no other nominations were received.  Sperle and Furseth moved and 2nd to close the nominations for Caucus Chairman; motion carried.  Chair Beske appointed Dawn George to be the teller in the event that a run-off was necessary.

 

5.  Nominations:

    a) Town Supervisor - 2 positions to be filled. 

        Dale Furseth nominated Sarah Shapiro Hurley, 2nd by Milt Sperle.

        John Podebrasky nominated Daniel Dean, 2nd by Mary Lou Degenhardt.

        Milt Sperle nominated James Lunde, 2nd by Olaf Stokstad.

 

Hearing no further nominations for the Supervisor position, Chair Beske called for a motion to close the nominations for Town Supervisor.  Harley Stokstad moved to close the nominations for

Town Supervisor; 2ne by Milt Sperle; motion carried.

 

6.  Adjournment.  Sperle moved, Shapiro Hurley 2nd motion to adjourn the 2006 Caucus; motion carried.

 

Subsequent to the adjournment of the Caucus, all nominated candidates completed filling out their Declaration of Candidacy and Campaign Registration documents.

 

7.  Ballot Order:  The Ballot order was drawn as follows:  1) Daniel Dean, 2) Sarah Shapiro Hurley, and 3) James Lunde.
